The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a youth development program that empowers young people to explore their potential and learn important life skills. As an established provider of International Study Programs, Actura is proud to offer CASE Space School as a way for Participants to complete sections of their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

CASE Junior Space School

Bronze and Silver Award

CASE Junior Space School Programs incorporate online and face-to-face instruction and practice of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. As a Certified Facilitator of the Habits, Actura provides our Duke of Ed participants with structured eLearning modules before and after expedition, as well as engaging and dynamic workshops during their time overseas. These all lead into the STEAM Expert Challenge undertaken by students while in the USA, a space-related project providing a framework within which participants can apply their newfound skills. Upon completion of the Section, students will understand the principles behind the 7 Habits, and gain insight into how to apply them to their everyday lives, school work and personal goals.

CASE Senior Space School

Bronze and Silver Award

CASE Senior Space School Programs incorporate online and face-to-face exploration of the Seven Success Principles, based on Tony Wagner’s Seven Survival Skills. Duke of Ed participants will be taught and assessed on these skills before and after their expedition through structured eLearning, as well as during their time overseas by way of engaging and dynamic workshops, and through completion of their ChallengeX project. Upon completing this Section, participants will have learned what these Success Principles mean, and how to apply them to their everyday lives as students, and in their future university and working careers.

Gold Award

CASE Senior Space School Programs allow participants to cover all the essential areas in order to complete their Gold Award Residential Project for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Collaborating with new like-minded peers, they will broaden their knowledge and experiences.
